So, we talked about the three most important goaltenders in Vegas Golden Knights history. Names like Marc-Andre Fleury and Logan Thompson led the charge, adding more stability to the Golden Knights in net. Now, it's time to focus on the wingers.
For some perspective, there are some honorable mentions here. Max Pacioretty is one of those players with 97 goals and 97 assists during his four-year Vegas residency. There are also players like Pavel Dorofeyev (single-season power play goals recordholder with 20 in 2025-26) and Ivan Barbashev (71 goals and 102 assists during his four-year Vegas residency). Heck, you can even throw Alex Tuch in there! Tip your caps to these names for their excellent work.
And no, we're not including Mitch Marner since he hasn't been around long enough. But you should watch for him to make his way onto the list soon. After all, he had a stellar playoff campaign this past postseason and is making his presence felt in Las Vegas.
With that, there are three names that impacted the Golden Knights positively on the wing. These three names have either been around since "Day F*****g One" or close to it, adding more to Vegas's offensive dimension. Let's say hello to these three monumental wingers that helped the Golden Knights become a juggernaut.
3.) Reilly Smith
Some people have said that Reilly Smith looks like a teacher. He could be teaching physics or American history (despite the fact that he's from the Toronto area). But the Original Misfit has also been teaching the fundamentals of being an excellent Golden Knights winger. How, you ask?
Smith has 143 goals and 180 assists in his eight-year Vegas residency, including stellar campaigns in 2017-18 (22 goals and 38 assists), 2019-20 (27 goals and 27 assists), and 2022-23 (26 goals and 30 assists). Those numbers alone are enough to teach the hockey world how to help your team make three Stanley Cup Final appearances and win a Stanley Cup.
2.) Jonathan Marchessault
Conn Smythe winner. All-time franchise leader in goals (192). All-time franchise leader in points (417). Marchessault has done everything necessary to become one of the most important Vegas Golden Knights wingers ever. He might've been undersized, but he added an offensive punch that fans couldn't deny.
That's not even mentioning how he held a papier-mache power play unit together. The Original Misfit scored 42 power play goals during his Vegas residency, which is a franchise record. There's nobody who added more offense through scoring than Marchessault himself.
1.) Mark Stone
It's been stated numerous times how important Mark Stone is to the Golden Knights' operations. He provides an offensive spark to Vegas's operations and has the positional understanding to dominate a game. But that's not all he provides to the franchise.
He's also the Golden Knights' Captain, providing an emotional charge for Vegas. There have been countless memories of Stone scoring a timely goal and lighting up the Las Vegas crowd. You can't say enough kind things about the Winnipeg native's impact on the franchise, especially when he's led the charge for Vegas when they needed it most. I guess you can say that he's President material.
