Better brace those cheeks because that news is going to hit you harder than a speeding semi truck. Imagine how much more painful that would make a potential Golden Knights and Canadiens Stanley Cup Final matchup.
But imagine how much more deflating it would be if the Golden Knights defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in a hypothetical matchup. Seeing Marner get his hands on the Conn Smythe Trophy would devastate a group of haters as if the Boston Bruins pulled off another epic Game 7 comeback on their team.
Of course, this is contingent on finishing the job. Marner has already gotten the proverbial monkey off his back involving the second round.
