Man, these dog days are getting to me. Las Vegas is no joke when it comes to the heat, especially when it reaches 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Imagine walking outside and feeling like your heart is about to give out. Yes, it'd be like that sometimes.

But in all seriousness, the dry heat is no joke, even if it doesn't have any humidity. That's why you need to drink as much water as possible. That way, you don't pass away from heatstroke.

Anyways, let's look at what happened in the Golden Knights' realm this past week. It's starting to get to the point where the news cycle is slowing down before the season starts. Now, you're fishing for stories and crazy trade proposals that don't make any sense.

Are you ready for that news cycle to slow down before September, dear reader? Let's endure this trying time together and see what happened in the realm this past week. After all, the news never sleeps.

The Vegas Golden Knights give Lukas Cormier a one-year extension

The Vegas Golden Knights don't have much defenseman depth heading into the 2026-27 season. So, what's a team to do in this situation? Why, you sign one of the most productive Henderson Silver Knights from 2025-26 in Lukas Cormier to a one-year deal.

Last season, Cormier posted eight goals and 39 assists in 49 games with Henderson. He was one of the best puck-movers on the Silver Knights, leading them to third place in the Pacific Division. With heightened expectations, where will the team head to next with Cormier back in the fold?

The Henderson Silver Knights announce their 2026-27 home opener

Mark your calendars, ladies and gentlemen. The Henderson Silver Knights will take the ice at Lee's Family Forum on October 3rd to take on the Bakersfield Condors. If you're not familiar with the Condors, they're the Edmonton Oilers' AHL squad.

If you wanted to see a mini version of the Oilers and the Golden Knights going at it, this is it. Enjoy the hockey and prepare for the cooler temperatures because this will be a fun-packed game. That's especially true with people expecting the Silver Knights to be good this season.

Still nothing on the Dylan Larkin front

The Dylan Larkin rumors seem to be swirling around like a vicious tornado. First, we're hearing that Steve Yzerman is asking for absurd pieces in a potential deal. Then, Elliotte Friedman says he believes that the Red Wings center will be traded before the season. What gives?

Whatever the case, the endless rumor mill will continue plaguing hockey fans across the globe. Until there is a final outcome, fans will be left in suspense and asking for said resolution. Prayers up for those affected by this ongoing storm.
