That also means that the news cycle is picking up. Now, we're talking about training camp, prospects, and... contract extensions? I guess these are the little appetizers that'll bring us the main course. Still, hockey is hockey, so we don't discriminate.

Mark Stone signs a two-year, $9 million AAV extension with the Vegas Golden Knights
Sept. 12 isn't normally a day that many people think about. It's a mundane day for most people (except for yours truly), when they just live regular lives. However, this will be known as the day that Mark Stone extended his Vegas residency.
The Golden Knights Captain got a contract extension with the team for two years and a $9 million AAV, keeping him around until he eventually retires. Stone has a full no-move clause for both seasons, ensuring that he won't go anywhere. It looks like Mr. Golden Knight will make Las Vegas his permanent home.
The Vegas Golden Knights training camp started on Thursday
66 men try to make the Vegas Golden Knights' 23-man roster. They want to live out their dreams of becoming NHL stars and impress the Golden Knights' faithful. That's what went down on Thursday, as the boys filed into City National Arena for training camp.
Three groups will compete and get their chops on one another. Then, the group dwindles down as the preseason passes, leaving the Golden Knights with their 23-man roster for the 2026-27 season. Who will make the cut? Stay tuned.
Juo Piiparinen got a special invitation from the Golden Knights
Juho Piiparinen has received plenty of attention from the Golden Knights' fans. He's got tremendous puck-moving ability and has a two-way game that gives Vegas plenty of meat. It's no wonder that he got a special invitation to attend their training camp.
The Finnish defenseman will try his hand at developing his skills in the next couple of weeks. But for now, the Golden Knights prospect will focus on his fundamentals and become a better NHL player. The future is bright for Piiparinen as he moves on in his NHL journey.
