The Vegas Golden Knights have an opponent to start the 2026-27 season! They won't see an emerging superstar since he suffered an injury during his team's practice. However, the Golden Knights will face off against the Chicago Blackhawks on September 29 to kick off the season.
The Golden Knights home opener is set for September 29th vs Chicago. 7:30 pm on ESPN.

The full schedule will be released tomorrow.
Last season, the Golden Knights were "Golden" against the Blackawks, posting a 2-0-1 record against the Original Six team. That will be the focus again as Vegas starts off their festivities in an earlier session. Let's not forget that the NHL is expanding to 84 games this season, making for a shorter offseason.
The Golden Knights came off a roller coaster season that saw them relieve their head coach of their duties and amass 39 wins. However, Vegas made the Stanley Cup Final behind John Tortorella's leadership before falling two games short of the ultimate prize.
The NHL schedule will be released on July 16, giving Golden Knights fans a perspective on who they'll face throughout the year. The Golden Knights will also have a Stadium Series game against the Dallas Stars at AT&T Stadium in February. This season will garner plenty of exposure for the Golden Knights as they grow into a global brand.
That's a good thing, too. Winning franchises deserve to get the spotlight on them. Just look at the Kansas City Chiefs in recent years and what they've done. Having the NFL's version of Jack Eichel along with a legendary head coach does wonders for a sports team.
