Thursday's news united NFL fans of all creeds, whether it was San Francisco 49er fans or Dallas Cowboys fans. It revolved around the Vegas Golden Knights getting another outdoor game. This time, they're heading to AT&T Stadium to face the Dallas Stars.

The Golden Knights and the Stars will face off on February 20 in the first NHL game at the Cowboys' home. Built in 2009, the stadium has hosted numerous lucrative events, including the Super Bowl, the Big 12 Championship, and the Cotton Bowl.

This isn't the first foray into the winter spectacles for either team. The Golden Knights had that traumatic showing at T-Mobile Park on January 1, 2024, getting shut out by the Seattle Kraken in the Winter Classic, 3-0. The Stars had better luck in their Winter Classic, doubling up the Nashville Predators in the 2020 iteration, 4-2.

The Vegas Golden Knights can avenge their terrible 2024 Winter Classic showing with a Stadium Series win over the Dallas Stars

I can't tell you how terrible the 2024 Winter Classic was for the Golden Knights. Joey Daccord (!) got a shutout on that fateful day, stopping all 35 shots. Yanni Gourde, Eeli Tovanen, and Will Borgen all scored goals as the Kraken were the superior expansion story for one day.

Thursday's news offers new hope for the Golden Knights to redeem themselves on the outdoor spectacle front. While it's likely that they'll face a better goaltender in Jake Oettinger, the Golden Knights can still win and avenge that disastrous loss.

Big names like Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner give the Golden Knights a chance in every game. Combined with a big swinging general manager in Kelly McCrimmon, Vegas can bolster the prospects of a good Stadium Series game.

There was once a "wise" wide receiver named Terrell Owens who had a memorable quote. It caps what Golden Knights and Stars fans (and Cowboys fans, too!) can expect with the Stadium Series game.

"Get your popcorn ready."
