It didn't take long for Juho Piiparinen to return from his native Finland to join the Vegas Golden Knights in training camp. The Finnish defenseman was announced as a participant in the upcoming Golden Knights' training camp on Monday, making his way from Tappara in Liiga.

Piiparinen was drafted with the 29th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft by the Golden Knights. The 18-year-old from Lahti, Finland, stands at 6'3" and weighs 203 lbs. He has a right-handed shot and was signed by the Golden Knights during the summer.
Last season, he scored a goal and 12 assists in 15 games with Tappara's U20 team in the U20 SM-sarja league. He also spent 29 games with the major league club, adding three assists along the way. He was even loaned to Pyry Hockey of the Mestis League, adding an assist in three games.
This season, he's expected to join Tappara again, building his game along the way. He's still some ways away from cracking the Golden Knights' main roster, especially since he's 18 years old. How many players that age make the main roster right out of the gate? Still, this is a good opportunity for Piiparinen to hone his skills and become a blue-line mainstay for years to come.
