On Tuesday, the Vegas Golden Knights made an announcement regarding the 2026 Rookie Camp. He announced who was on the roster and where the showcase would be happening (along with when). But let's start with the roster, first. The Golden Knights are taking 23 players to the festivities in San Jose, hoping to develop and grow their talent further.

The Rookie Faceoff will begin on September 12 and conclude on September 15. The action will go down at TechCU Arena and Sharks Ice in San Jose and will feature six teams. Those teams consist of the Golden Knights, the Anaheim Ducks, the Colorado Avalanche, the Los Angeles Kings, the San Jose Sharks, and the Utah Mammoth.
The Golden Knights rookie will practice at CNA on Friday, September 11 at 12:45 PM. Then, it's off to the Bay Area for the weekend (and change) for the Rookie Faceoff. Vegas will face the Utah Mammoth on September 12 at 3 PM and the Colorado Avalanche the next day at 1 PM.
What the Rookie Camp roster dropping means for the Vegas Golden Knights
Obviously, you have the return of hockey on the horizon. That always starts with the rookies touching the ice, getting themselves ready for their NHL careers. But it goes beyond merely starting their careers on the right foot. It's also preparing for the upcoming hockey season, where you're working towards building a successful NHL career.
Here, names like Trevor Connelly come to mind. The former first-round pick is making significant progress towards cracking the Vegas Golden Knights roster, displaying incredible playmaking abilities as a prominent winger. He'll be the focus of the Rookie Camp and Faceoff as he treks towards joining the Golden Knights soon.
But other noteworthy names reside on the Rookie Camp roster. That includes Mathieu Cataford, Tuomas Uronen, and Cameron Whitehead. These names have had decorated amateur careers and are looking to take the next step forward in their hockey journeys.
