I'm going to be 100% honest here. The Vegas Golden Knights aren't world-renowned for having the best prospect system out there. Aside from a few names, it's essentially a group of lower-level players who probably won't have much luck getting into the NHL.
But that doesn't mean the system outright sucks. You have your regular names, such as Trevor Connelly, Carl Lindbom, and Mathieu Cataford. These players should serve as regulars in the Golden Knights' system when the future rolls around.
Besides, some names stand out from the crowd. They have a shot at raising the bar and becoming more than what their current positions indicate. After all, who doesn't love a good underdog story? It's as American as apple pie and old-school baseball.
So, let's look at 10 prospects that Golden Knights fans aren't thinking about. They come from all positions, ranging from goaltender to forward. Let's get acquainted with these 10 prospects and see what they bring to the table.
1.) Pavel Moisevich
2023-24 was a solid year for Moisevich in the KHL. He posted a GAA of 1.25 and a save percentage of .942 in 13 games. The season prior, he posted solid numbers with SKA-1946 St. Petersburg with a GAA of 1.99 and a save percentage of .921.
The third-round draft pick (83rd overall) might've had a slight bump in the road last season. However, he brings plenty of size (6'7") and uses short yet sweet movements in the net.
2.) Tuomas Uronen
In last year's World Juniors showcase, the Finnish forward scored two goals in seven games. He also had a solid campaign with the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs, scoring 38 goals and 52 assists.
The next stop is expected to be the minor leagues, where he will ramp up his game. The former sixth-round pick should be up for the task since he's proven he can handle North American hockey before.
3.) Trent Swick
The former sixth-round pick in 2024 (180th overall) had a decorated OHL career. In five seasons, he scored 65 goals and 82 assists (203 games played), bringing a scoring touch and size not seen within the organization.
That can be a viable asset when combined with his quick movements and deception. Watch for Swick to shock some people en route to fighting for an NHL spot.
4.) Lucas Van Vliet
Van Vliet had a notable campaign with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in 2024-25. Here, he scored 22 goals and 27 assists in 56 games, making him one of the most prolific figures on the team.
As he heads off to the University of St. Thomas next season, he can raise his profile further and become a respected prospect. After all, the Golden Knights' system needs players like him.
5.) Arttu Karki
In 2023-24, the Finnish defenseman had 21 goals and 24 assists in 59 games with the OHL's Soo Greyhounds. He was on a loan, which made his work even more impressive.
What's more, Karki was a 2023 third-round pick (96th overall) by the Golden Knights. He could rise up the ranks and become a regular lineup fixture.
6.) Ben Hemmerling
For being a 2022 sixth-round draft pick, Hemmerling has been a steady force in the amateur scene. He made an impressive impact as the Captain of the Everett Silvertips, scoring 64 goals and 143 assists in four seasons. On top of that, he averaged 1.04 points per game with Everett.
While he didn't do much in his inaugural season with the Henderson Silver Knights (one goal and one assist in 17 games), he should contribute much more in his second go-round.
7.) Jakub Brabenec
Brabenec has an innate instinct to read the next play before it happens. He can pick apart his opponents by controlling his skating and deceiving them.
Expectations are high for the Czech native, who scored nine goals and 13 assists in 62 games with Henderson last season. Can he build off that and continue growing?
8.) Jackson Hallum
The University of Michigan star has done well representing the Vegas Golden Knights. He scored eight goals and nine assists in 36 games last season, making his mark on the legendary school.
The 2020 third-round pick (91st overall) also lit up the USHL, scoring 35 goals and 47 assists in two seasons (77 games). For Hallum, the sky's the limit regarding how he'll turn out.
9.) Jakob Ihs-Wozniak
There was a reason why the Golden Knights selected the Australian native in the 2025 NHL Draft (55th overall). He has some upside to his name with a fantasy upside score of 7.0, according to Dobber Prospects.
On top of that, he brings a sniping ability and playmaking skills to the club. Watch for him to climb up the Golden Knights' farm system in the upcoming years.
10.) Matyas Sapovaliv
Aside from snagging a Memorial Cup with the Saginaw Spirit, the Czech native also stands at a gaudy 6'4". He can carry his own as a goal scorer, especially after scoring 11 goals with Henderson last season.
Trevor Connelly and Mathieu Cataford might get more forward love in terms of Golden Knights prospects. But you can't ignore what Sapovaliv does on the ice, especially as a two-way forward.
