One week from now, football fans (of the American variety) will rejoice as the NFL makes its return. The Carolina Panthers (nearly said the Hurricanes) will take on the Arizona Cardinals in the 2026 NFL Hall of Fame Game. That's right, dear reader. It's time for the NFL propaganda machine to hype up the upcoming season.
That means Jerry Jones's old mug will hype up one of the most overrated franchises in existence (sorry, but you know it's true). That also means that Taylor Swift will be on everyone's television screens, burning everyone's eyeballs out. That also means that we must deal with the club that an island owner named Jeffrey once let in. Football's back, baby.
The world's biggest propaganda machine, where everyone's overpaid, will return in August. That's the bad part for some, especially in Las Vegas. Vegas Golden Knights fans are either going to watch a team not named the Raiders play football or wait for September 29 to roll around.
The good news? Golden Knights hockey is only two months away, with the preseason coming before that. If you're not into the National Football Industrial Complex running everything in our lives or watching Fox Sports and ESPN attle for the most insufferable sports network around, you're in luck.
The Golden Knights are looking to avenge their Stanley Cup Final loss to the Hurricanes and win Stanley Cup No. 2. That means making minor tweaks to ensure things go right. Media-resistant coach? Goodbye, because it's time for fresh blood. Bloated contracts? No thanks.
Will that work in the end? Who knows? But one thing's certain. All you have to do is endure two months of football (one preseason month) to get to that point. If you like it? Great. But you know you love Vegas Golden Knights hockey even more.
