Ladies and gentlemen, the Las Vegas Raiders begin preseason football this week. They'll take on the Seattle Seahawks, who appear to be veering from their glory days to become similar to the Kraken. Life can be unfair at times, eh?

However, that brings about something that all of America is waiting for: the NFL regular season returning. That can only mean one thing: Raiders football is also back in the regular season.

That means the Black Hole will dress up like they're cosplaying as GWAR bandmembers. That also means Patrick Mahomes and those Kansas City Chiefs coming to town and "owning" Las Vegas. It seems like they win every single time they come to Sin City.

Uh oh... That sounds like no fun.

Luckily, there's an out for Golden Knights fans everywhere. You see, not every Golden Knights fan likes the Raiders as well. The luxury of being a team that takes in so many expats across the globe is that they can lay claim to another team. It doesn't matter if they grew up elsewhere (i.e., Phoenix, Chicago, or Detroit) or are enamored with an NFL team's history.

Now that sounds American, doesn't it? It's all about the freedom, baby.

How to handle rooting for the Las Vegas Raiders during the season

The beauty about the NFL regular season is that the first month coincides with the NHL preseason. That means you can immediately turn to the Golden Knights if the Raiders poop the bed. After all, who wouldn't want to see the stars of tomorrow?

That's why you should always have an escape plan. If the Raiders leave a stinker, always see who the stars of tomorrow are. You can see who could make like Tanner Pearson and make the team or who'll be relegated to playing for the Henderson Silver Knights.

Of course, this is easier for fans of other teams to stomach in certain cases. For example, Chiefs and Eagles fans who love the Golden Knights live like kings. They can watch superstars like Mahomes and Jalen Hurts dominate opponents while their superstar teams take over the league. Remember what Mel Brooks once said...

"It's good to be the king."
Mel Brooks

The moral of the story is to have a backup plan if you're a Raiders fan. You can always say, "Same Ol' Raiders" while shaking your head. You can also come dressed up like you're in a heavy metal band. The good news? You're getting the best of both worlds come September.
