Wednesday "Knight" wisdom about... Halloween
Candy will be one of the main themes on Thursday alongside spooky things. What are some ways to enjoy the sweetness?
Halloween is only one day away, which means everyone will dress up as their favorite icons. Many Vegas Golden Knights fans will dress up as their favorite players, whether that's Tomas Hertl or William Karlsson. "Fun must be always," as they always say when the spooky season rolls around (or so it goes, according to a certain Czech superstar).
There's also the candy aspect of the holiday, which will have the children excited. Why not get yourself nothing but Reese's Butter Cups, M&M's, and Crunch bars? It's the best time for the youth, especially if they're dressed as Mark Stone... without his spleen.
For Golden Knights fans who are older, they remember some scary moments throughout the team's franchise history. That includes cross-checking penalties that should've been minor penalties and misplayed pucks. These spooky memories dashed any hope of the Golden Knights advancing in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
But what about the sweet stuff? As mentioned, moderation is key. You don't want your kids to bounce around all night, Plus, there are the health effects of too much sugar. Still, October 31st comes around once every year, so it's best to let them have fun. Here's what you can do (and get) for the Halloween season.
How to have a good Halloween, Golden Knights-style
First, you must dress as your favorite Vegas Golden Knights player. Luckily, there are many players to choose from, including Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Ivan Barbashev. You can also pick names such as Noah Hanifin or Shea Theodore. Whatever the case, just pick a Golden Knights player and dress up as such.
You can also add an interesting touch to your costume. If you're Mark Stone, make sure to have a "X" located near your spleen. If you're Jonathan Marchessault, be sure to get on your knees and walk around with an 81 jersey. Just be sure to bring knee pads since that'll be a painful experience.
If you're looking for a fun-filled family affair after Trick-Or-Treating, head to Hershey's Chocolate World and grab a sundae or milkshake. My personal favorite is the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Milkshake. I'm always a sucker for anything peanut butter-y and chocolate-y, specifically in the same realm.
Finally, go to a Golden Knights game (if they're playing). If they're out of town, head to a nice restaurant and watch the game together. My favorite is Tom's Watch, located by New York New York Casino and Hotel. It's the ultimate sports fan experience, offering options to dine inside or outside.
October 31st starts a long holiday season (tons of marketing and buying stuff), followed by Thanksgiving and Hannukah/Christmas. However, it's a good time for the family to leave the house. As long as no Connor McDavid is running around to abduct children, you should have a great time.
