When you don't score a single point against the Minnesota Wild, that should set off all sorts of alarm bells if you're not a mere mortal. You're supposed to be the franchise face with the single-season record for most points in team history (94 in 2024-25). Then again, fans shouldn't worry too much about Jack Eichel, the aforementioned immortal in this case.
He started the week on a low note, failing to register a single point for the Golden Knights in a 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Then, he got a goal on Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators in a decisive 5-2 win. Then, he got another goal and added two assists on Thursday, helping the Golden Knights beat the Calgary Flames 6-2.
What can a guy do for an encore on Saturday night? Well, he can deliver two primary assists to defensemen in another 6-2 blowout, this time against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Suddenly, the Olympic gold medalist has his groove back and is dominating the play. It's like the superstar center never left the picture.
But it isn't like getting off the snide was in any doubt. The Golden Knights center has five goals and 13 assists entering Sunday's slate. He's tied for 15th in goals scored and has the second-most assists in the NHL right now. He was bound to hop off the two-game slide when he entered Tuesday's contest against the Predators.
Can Eichel keep this up for the Golden Knights? Believe it or not, the next three games are just as impactful for hitting the century mark. Yes, that can literally be said for any other week. However, there's a reason for this, specifically with who the Golden Knights are playing this week. Lettuce dive into this hamburger of a slate and not be a tomato, eh?

But first! There's a Tuesday home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. There's no guarantee that this will be easy for the superstar center, given that Tampa Bay is loaded with talent. How has Eichel done against all three opponents?
Eichel's Opponent | Games Played | Goals | Assists | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
25 | 5 | 17 | 22 | |
21 | 11 | 8 | 19 | |
24 | 12 | 14 | 26 |
Golden Knights fans must keep Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets circled for many reasons. One, they're a middling team that has struggled to maintain relevance. Two, they're the team that Eichel has had success against among the three opponents this week. He has the most goals (12) and the most points (26), which will make matters interesting.
Of course, you can also look at Eichel's Tuesday opponent as a potential points mine if everything goes right. He does have the most assists of the three opponents this week and could keep leaning on Mark Stone for help.
As for St. Louis? Well, that's where things get interesting. The superstar center has five goals and five assists in his past nine games against the Blues, including three multi-point games (one goal and one assist each). If he can build off that prior momentum, that'll put him in the driver's seat for 100 or more points.
As it stands, Eichel's projected to score 46 goals and 100 assists this season. The assists alone would be enough to grab the 100+ point mark. But all three marks (goals, assists, and points) would be single-season records. Imagine the conversations that would ensue, should Eichel hit that mark (hello, Hart Memorial Trophy!).
