I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Vegas Golden Knights fans!
Here's hoping your holiday was filled with winning football, plenty of food, and cherished time with friends and family. Here's also hoping you appreciate everything you have, whether that's a stable job, a loving spouse, or a roof over your head.
Now comes the part where the Christmas/Hanukkah season rolls around. It's time to consider what to get your family, regardless of how far apart they live. This next month is about appreciating who you have in your life and adorning them with food and gifts.
But there's more to the holiday season than handing out presents and turkeys. It's about expressing gratitude, specifically with those who've been on this journey for a year. They've stuck with you through thick and thin, including the day the Golden Knights were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs.
For all Golden Knights fans, this is an appreciation post about everything related to writing. Sure, there might've been some bumps in the road (probably coming from Edmonton). However, that hasn't stopped anybody from achieving their goals. Here's what I'm thankful for regarding the best hockey team in the NHL.
What I'm thankful for as a Vegas Golden Knights fan
First, I'm thankful for the opportunity to discuss the Vegas Golden Knights. Since this franchise entered the league in 2017-18, they've provided the fans with countless memories. That includes the Stanley Cup Final run in the first season, the "Original Misfits", and fulfilling a promise in 2023.
Many people were skeptical about a hockey team working in the desert, specifically with the Arizona Coyotes flailing. However, Bill Foley (another person I'm thankful for) set the "gold" standard, promising to win the Stanley Cup in six seasons. It takes a sports owner with serious gumption to make a bold proclamation like this. However, Foley is the only person brave enough to follow through with it.
I'm also thankful for the various fans I've met this past year. You guys have had intelligent conversations about the game of hockey, something that would've blown the minds of our northern neighbors. Other fans will say the following:
"How can someone from VEGAS know anything about hockey? They constantly have 122-degree weather!"
Apparently, they never visited Las Vegas since it does get pretty cold in the desert. Still, you guys showed the world that Sin City is indeed a "hockey town".
Finally, I'm thankful for this opportunity to write and use this as my canvas. Yes, I haven't been the perfect writer, for I've missed some items in my writing. But you have been patient with me and continue to support this wonderful site. For that, I say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart.
