On May 5, the Vegas Golden Knights fell to the Dallas Stars, 2-1, in the final game of the first round. It was tough for fans to see their reigning Stanley Cup champions lose. However, the impeccable work of Jake Oettinger and Pete DeBoer's constricting neutral-zone play did the Golden Knights in. In turn, fans were waiting for their favorite pastime throughout the summer.

It's been a long, arduous journey waiting for Golden Knights hockey to return. Having only baseball to entertain the masses (and maybe MLS soccer) can be frustrating. It's even worse when your NFL team gets off to a bad start, leaving little hope for a Super Bowl in 2024.

That's where the Golden Knights come in. With Tomas Hertl's fun-loving personality and Jack Eichel's elite play, fans can forget about the world's woes and watch the beautiful game every night or two. Praise the lord, Marc-Andre Fleury because the NHL is back in full swing.

The Vegas Golden Knights will take on the Colorado Avalanche at 7:00 PM PST at T-Mobile Arena tonight. Fans will pack the venue for their favorite team, hoping to see Eichel or Mark Stone score a goal. The memes will be out in full force along with stunning plays and saves, leaving fans speechless

Of course, this also comes with bountiful side effects. First, we can take our pets for a walk at the local park without everyone burning up. Second, we can finally take in the beautiful sights and sounds of national parks, such as Red Rock Canyon and Zion National Park. Fall and winter are coming to Las Vegas and it couldn't have arrived at a better time.

Let's have some fun (as must be always), Vegas Golden Knights fans

The last season consisted of various ups and downs. The Vegas Golden Knights dealt with countless injuries, losing superstars such as Mark Stone and Jack Eichel. It was a brutal time to be a defending Stanley Cup champion. Fans saw a wounded animal trying to fight.

However, last season also provided hope for Golden Knights fans. The additions of Tomas Hertl and Noah Hanifin gave the team some offense on the power play. These additions have shown their worth in the preseason, providing a positive perspective for the fanbase. Will that translate to the regular season? Stay tuned.

There are other new faces to the mix, including Alexander Holtz and Tanner Pearson. Holtz is hoping for a second chance in Las Vegas after being cast aside in New Jersey. Pearson wants to make the most of his opportunity this season, turning a PTO into a one-year, $775,000 deal. Both will be key names to watch for the upcoming year. But what about the fans?

Here's an ode to the best fans in the world. Here's to the people who stuck with the franchise since "Day F****** One," believing in the Golden Knights when nobody else did. Here's to another fun-filled year featuring memorable quips and quotes. Here's to countless friendships forged over the bond of Las Vegas hockey. Finally, here's to the Golden Knights returning.
