Imagine taking a trip to Sweden and Denmark and being surprised by how tired you were afterwards. You didn't realize that the timezone difference would kick your arse so bad that you'd take naps in consecutive days, leaving you tired and drained. Well, that's a personal tale for you and it'll likely happen to some Vegas Golden Knights in the Olympics.
You see, this was only the second time I traveled to Europe. The first time was to Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for a week-long vacation. It was to celebrate my birthday and finally get out of the country for a little bit. Lo and behold, I was a bit tired.
However, I didn't expect to spend nearly half of my days sleeping. Even with Olympic hockey happening, it was getting to the point where I was taking two-hour naps after the American games were over. Like, geez, this thing is destroying me.
Be sure to get your beauty rest, Vegas Golden Knights fans
This Olympic schedule has been particularly unforgiving. We're talking about games starting at3:10 AM PST, mean you have to get up and watch hockey. Like, I get being an uber-passionate hockey fan and all. But geez, at my old age, that seems like overkill, doesn't it?
Luckily, it wasn't the United States or even Canada that had fans waking up at ungodly hours. Instead, it was mediocre hockey teams like France, Denmark, and Latvia that were on cleanup duty. After all, Golden Knights fans want to see Mark Stone and Jack Eichel take over the hockey universe.
So why not watch the replays and get your beauty rest? After all, that's what on-demand viewing is for, letting you sleep and watch the Canadians make the weak French surrender... yet again. You can watch Stone and Marner demolish the competition and move closer to winning that precious gold medal (of course, Eichel and Hanifin will have something to say about that). Just be careful of the jet lag since you have a five-game road trip looming large.
Personally, I'm getting my beauty rest for this week. I'm sleeping up and regaining my vitality, even as I get older. Little did I know that traveling would drain me like a human sucking on a milkshake through a straw. Thank goodness that I don't have to work tomorrow. There's that, too.
