Man, I just want off this roller coaster. After rumors of Jason Robertson being floated for Dylan Larkin emerged, the conversation suddenly shifted to Steve Yzerman. He departed from the Detroit Red Wings as their general manager, leaving the door wide open for Larkin to go anywhere.

No more crazy requests for Matt Boldy or Jack Eichel. Now, everything is fair game, including Vegas Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon. Now, McCrimmon can work a deal to his advantage, milking the Red Wings in more ways than one.

Perhaps that comes with a player like Tomas Hertl being offloaded. Maybe that comes with a first-round draft pick or two being sent over. Whatever the case, the Dylan Larkin situation has gotten as crazy as this generational phone call.

Metro Detroiters, man. They're a crazy bunch.

Anyway, the door has been swung wide open for the Olympic gold medalist to go anywhere. Yes, it isn't just the Vegas Golden Knights who are in contention. It's also the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild, two other teams that have been vying for Larkin's services since the whole rumor mill started.

The Vegas Golden Knights should be more positive about the latest Steve Yzerman news—but with a side of caution

It seems like this Larkin rumor mill is nothing more than a Disneyland ride. It has its ups and downs and will leave you with your arms in the air. That's certainly the case with the Golden Knights, who have some air breathed into the whole situation.

They can look at who could go on a lesser scale, getting salary swapped out. They can also throw in draft picks to help the Red Wings' future, giving them more ammunition for top-notch players. While that sounds nice, the Golden Knights can't expect a deal to come to fruition just yet.

Sure, it's nice that McCrimmon has the possibility of working his magic without absurd asking prices. But the same logic also applies to the other teams in the sweepstakes. The Stars might not have to sacrifice Robertson in a potential deal. The Wild can hold onto Matt Boldy and see what they get for Larkin.

Regardless, this chaotic rumor mill is bound to come to a head soon. The Red Wings are unrestrained by ungodly expectations in a trade and can build for the future. As for the Golden Knights? Well, they can let McCrimmon work his magic, even if he's at a disadvantage.
