You know, I was just in New York watching Danhausen tear Madison Square Garden down. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment to go into the World's Most Famous Arena to catch an event from an industry with a decades-long history with the venue. I was in shock and awe about being in such a historical cathedral.
Imagine seeing the ghosts of Patrick Ewing (okay, he's not dead, luckily), Mark Messier (okay, he's not dead, either, thank goodness), or Bruno Sammartino (R.I.P.) roam that hallowed venue. It would hit you like a full-blown wave, leaving you in awe of the decorated history behind Madison Square Garden.
Believe it or not, that will be on the docket this upcoming season. I will be venturing out to the New York/New Jersey area for three venues. You can probably guess which three I'm talking about here. Yes, that includes Madison Square Garden.
In the meantime, here's what happened in the latest Round-Up installation. The Golden Knights had more noteworthy newsbits that included a former head coach wanting to return. Ex-Vegas Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella wants to coach again
Remember when John Tortorella saved the Golden Knights from being swept under the Pacific Division rug? The fiery head coach led Vegas to its third Stanley Cup and put the team within two games of its Stanley Cup. Well, it seems that his head coaching itch isn't going away any time soon.
Tortorella spoke to the media and talked about how he wanted to return to the bench. He also understood that Ryan Craig was coming in to replace him, leaving him without a job after the 2025-26 regular season. Will he have another gig in the future or will he be broadcasting again? Stay tuned.
Mitch Marner's agent speaks on the mistreatment he suffered while with the Toronto Maple Leafs
Mitch Marner's agent, Darren Ferris, had some telling words to the PuckPedia Hockey Show about his client's time with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He hit on how Marner was never awarded any performance bonuses as a youngster and how the media crucified him.
Ironically, Maple Leafs fans crucified him on social media, calling him whiny (among other things). Still, it doesn't wash the fact that Marner made the Stanley Cup Final in his first season with the Golden Knights. Maple Leafs fans better hope that there isn't an encore presentation in the future for the former "Core Four" member.
11 Golden Knights make the NHL's Top 250 Fantasy Hockey rankings
Vegas Golden Knights fans knew they were going to see Jack Eichel (No. 22) and Mitch Marner (nO. 49) on this list. But what they didn't know was that they'd see nine other players occupy the NHL's Top 250 rankings.
That included Mark Stone (No. 99), Shea Theodore (No. 150), and Carter Hart (No. 152). Overall, it was a strong showing from the Golden Knights, especially after a topsy-turvy season. Vegas made the most from a team that looked like it was sinking faster than the Titanic. Kudos to the boys and here's hoping that the Golden Knights can add more to the list next season!
