Life is good if you're a Vegas Golden Knights fan right now. Your team took care of business against the Anaheim Ducks and you're on to the Western Conference Final. Mind you, there was no Brayden McNabb or Mark Stone. It's the fifth time in franchise history that the Golden Knights have made it to this point.

Mind you, this is a team that's in its ninth season in the NHL. It's a remarkable trait from a team that is relatively new to the hockey landscape, showcasing a strong commitment to winning at the top. Yes, I'm talking about you, Bill Foley (and you, George McPhee and Kelly McCrimmon).

So, what's a team to do for an encore? How are they going to climb the next mountain and take the next step to the Stanley Cup Final? Well, that's a big question for Vegas, who's ready to take that next step and shock the world.

Hey, have Tortorella, will travel, right? Even if you get fined for not having a media session, does it even matter? Anyways, here's the week that was for the Golden Knights in an action-packed docket.

The Vegas Golden Knights close out another playoff series in resounding fashion by beating the Anaheim Ducks

The Vegas Golden Knights have an innate habit of beating their opponents into oblivion after beating their opponents in Game 5. That goes back to 2023, when the Edmonton Oilers were smoked in Game 6 by the Golden Knights, 5-2, en route to Vegas's first Stanley Cup.

That was no different on Friday, when Vegas routed the Anaheim Ducks, 5-1. The Golden Knights got two goals from Pavel Dorofeyev and a highlight-worthy goal from Mitch Marner (more on that in a bit), adding a strong Carter Hart game to the mix. Overall, it was a strong game that shows the veteran team can close out big games when needed. Now, about that Marner kid...

Mitch Marner continues to silence his critics with yet another big playoff performance

Scoring a goal and an assist in a closeout game will certainly turn some heads. That's especially true when it's a controversial figure like Mitch Marner and the dialogue surrounding his past playoff performances. What better way to silence them than to score goals like this?

That was a Sportscenter-worthy goal that had everyone in awe—including some of Marner's most prominent haters from Toronto. Watch for the current playoffs point leader (18 entering Friday) to build off that against Vegas's next opponent...

The Vegas Golden Knights will face the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Final

After defeating the Ducks in an easy Game 6, the Golden Knights will face off against the Colorado Avalanche. Yes, you know them as the NHL's best regular season team, taking everyone down without much of a sweat.

This is an Avalanche team that notched 121 points, good enough for the President's Trophy. You know the various names on Colorado, ranging from Nathan MacKinnon to Cale Makar. That will make for a must-see superstar matchup as MacKinnon and Makar face off against Marner and Jack Eichel.
