The Vegas Golden Knights get the worst Mark Stone news possible ahead of a pivotal Game 5

It's something that fans desperately don't want to hear regarding their Captain.

The Vegas Golden Knights got the worst news possible on Tuesday ahead of a pivotal Game 5 against the Anaheim Ducks. They learned that their Captain, Mark Stone, will be out for Tuesday's game, leaving them short a crucial offensive piece.

Braeden Bowman was recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights as a corresponding move. Fans have lauded the rookie for playing a similar style to Stone, which will come in handy against the Ducks.

Still, you can't deny that losing your Captain for a key Game 5 hurts the Golden Knights. Aside from missing some checking power in Jeremy Lauzon, Vegas needs that veteran experience to shore things up. That was evident in Game 4, when the Golden Knights struggled to pounce on juicy opportunities in the offensive zone.

That will come to the forefront again on Tuesday as the Golden Knights will look for answers. That means having other players step up and take the burden off Vegas offensively. If they can do that, it won't be too catastrophic a loss. If not, well, that's bad news for a franchise looking to move to the Western Conference Final.

Regardless, the Golden Knights have a huge Game 5 ahead of them. Best of three and no excuses. That means pulling out all the stops and ensuring that the Ducks don't get the jump early (or ever). If that happens to be the case, don't expect a pleasant trip to Disneyland later in the week.
