Last season was a breakthrough season of sorts for Jack Eichel. The Vegas Golden Knights center scored 28 goals and 94 points in a solid 2024-25 season. In turn, he finishes fifth in the Hart Trophy race and gets recognized as an elite NHL center.
Pretty cool, huh?
What's more is that he broke countless records to boot. For example, he notched 66 assists in 2024-25, shattering David Perron's single-season record of 50. He also broke William Karlsson's single-season record for the most points (78 in 2017-18).
You better believe it. He's not done breaking records, though.
In fact, he can go even further in 2025-26. With a new partner in crime in Mitch Marner, Eichel can scale new heights as he pursues a new record-breaking deal with the Golden Knights. That's what the fans want, you know!
So let's pick a random number and see which records he could break. We'll go with...
Four! Four records that he could break, excluding points. These are four records that come to mind.
1.) Assists
Yes, it seems bizarre that Eichel could break his own assists record set in 2024-25. After all, it's not easy getting to 66 assists in a single season, especially in today's NHL landscape. However, he has a couple of things going for him.
First, Mitch Marner. The newest Golden Knights star is set to join Batman as his Robin on the top line. I can already see the odd-man rushes where the two are scoring goals.
Second, he's in a contract year. If he doesn't get a deal signed before the regular season starts, that could be the fuel needed to get him a better deal. Just look at what happened with Jonathan Marchessault in 2023-24 (42 goals, a career-high). Just make sure he doesn't leave like the Misfit did, McCrimmon.
2.) Plus/Minus
William Karlsson holds the single-season record for the best plus/minus in franchise history with 49 in 2017-18. The second best? Brayden McNabb in 2024-25.
I bet you didn't know that there were two Misfits that held the record. However, this is a record that Eichel can break without much input. All he has to do is be on the ice.
It's akin to Luigi winning by doing absolutely nothing. Of course, it helps to set up said opportunities for your teammates. But he can still pull it off.
3.) Point Shares
Eichel actually came close to this record last season with 10.5. He fell 1.3 point shares short of tying William Karlsson's record, which he set in 2017-18. However, a breakout campaign could catapult him past that number in 2025-26.
If he can score more goals and move closer to his career-high of 36 in 2019-20, Eichel can break the Misfit's single-season record with ease. In fact, it could become inevitable if the former second-overall pick can boost his goals.
Heck, he can go a step further and break the offensive point shares record (8.3 in 2017-18 by William Karlsson) if he wishes. It would firmly establish his Las Vegas legacy.
4.) Adjusted Goals Created
One would figure that blowing everyone out in the assists category would grant you the crown in this category (33.3 in 2024-25). However, that's not the case. That honor goes to Mark Stone, who had 33.8 adjusted goals created in 2020-21.
Mind you, that was a COVID-shortened season, where the Captain had 40 assists. But Eichel can easily break that record with a little luck in 2025-26. Watch for the U.S. Olympian to jump to the top here for the upcoming season.
