The speculation is finally over. The rumors and drama ended before the start of July.

Somewhere, Toronto Maple Leafs fans are anticipating the date when the Golden Knights come to town. Get ready for the boo birds, folks. They're flocking in from Florida quickly.

They're stewing over the actions that transpired, ranging from cancelled charity events to the lack of contract negotiations. It's almost as bad as losing to an emergency backup goaltender.

Somewhere, Josh from San Francisco is throwing off his bellhop uniform in frustration after talking about how Macklin Celebrini is a God. He's losing sleep over the possibility of Jack Eichel getting a new buddy on his wing. Looks like "Baby Shark" is getting stiff competition in the Pacific Division.

Somewhere, "Phil" from Alberta is stuck in his mother's basement, downing a bottle while thinking about how the Oilers keep cramming forwards into their roster. Meanwhile, their blue lines and goaltenders need work. Oh, and Connor McDavid is expecting a new contract soon.

Chin up, Edmonton. At least you made two straight Stanley Cup Finals. That must account for something, right?

Maybe Vegas's downfall will happen someday. But now? I don't think so, Tim. Today's a great day to root for the team in gold. Why, you ask?

Mitch Marner is reportedly joining the Vegas Golden Knights

Ladies and gentlemen, Mitch Marner is reportedly coming to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Darren Dreger reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to an eight-year extension in a sign-and-trade. Elliotte Friedman added the deal was worth $12 million AAV with the "Core Four" member.

Now? He joins Jack Eichel atop the top line, marking the beginning of the "Evil Empire." Out goes Nicolas Roy (yes, it's a one-for-one) and in comes Darth Vader.

Finally, Vegas gets their top line winger to pair with Eichel, potentially forming one of the greatest lines in modern hockey. Don't forget about that two-way game that he brings to the table.

As for Toronto? At least they got something from nothing. Roy is a nice fourth-line center with a scoring touch and can also play the wing. The Maple Leafs also don't face the burden of being stuck in salary cap purgatory. Imagine if Marner simply walked in free agency.

Oh well. Kelly McCrimmon is here to win Stanley Cups. By the way, fans are already dreaming about Rasmus Andersson coming to Sin City. Cue all the curse words from the other 31 teams.

The Marner saga between the Maple Leafs and Golden Knights is finally over

Take a deep breath. Hold for 10 seconds. Exhale.

Are you glad the speculation's finally over?

Almost every hockey fan grew tired of the endless Marner rumors and speculation posted by everyone and their grandmother. It didn't matter if it was the parody accounts or the real deals. All the rumors flying around made people anxiously await July 1st.

Now? All the fear and speculation about tampering and bending the rules are thrown out the window. All the tears flowing from Canada will fill Lake Mead and quench our children's thirst for generations.

Marner is coming to the Vegas Golden Knights and every NHL team will be on their toes. With Emperor McCrimmon at the helm and Darth Marner leading the new "empire," Vegas has become as hated as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Long live the Evil Empire. Cue the Imperial March.
