Who had the most power play goals on-ice for in Vegas Golden Knights history?

Being around something good is always an awesome feeling. That's especially true on the power play, where the Vegas Golden Knights haven't thrived historically.

Historically, the Vegas Golden Knights haven't had a good power play. The team hasn't been able to get players in front of the net to obstruct the goaltender's view. There have also been sessions of endless passing, even with big names like Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault on board. It's led to frustrating moments where the unit became the butt of all jokes for the fanbase.

However, this season is different, with the Golden Knights tied for fifth through five games (31.3%). Suddenly, the unit looks alive, getting shots from everywhere. Want a goal from the high slot? That's not a problem. What about the point? Just get a body up front. Overall, it's led to a good start where Vegas has seven points. Not bad for a historically bad unit that has always been a running gag.

But one player's been on the ice for the most power play goals in a single season. This person has made a name for himself throughout the Golden Knights's record books, setting the standard for the franchise. However, this particular circumstance involves him doing nothing as a bare minimum. Who's the mystery man on the ice for the most power play goals in a single season for Vegas?

Who did you guess was atop this category for the Vegas Golden Knights? Were you thinking Marc-Andre Fleury, A.K.A. the man with ALL the goaltender records? He might as well grab one here, too. However, it's not Fleury. What about Jack Eichel? Nope, it isn't him. But there's a good chance he could break that record if he continues his torrid pace.

Instead, it's the usual suspect, Jonathan Marchessault. Last season, he was present for 36 goals on the man advantage, breaking Fleury's mark set in 2018-19 (32). Eichel also broke that previous record with 33, moving past the mark last season. However, his former teammate got the best of the four-time All-Star, with Eichel sitting in second place as a result.

Fleury (2019-20) tied Logan Thompson (2023-24) for fourth place with 30. He also held the sixth-place mark with 29 in 2017-18. Seventh place is a four-way tie between David Perron (2017-18), Max Pacioretty (2019-20), Shea Theodore (2019-20), and Chandler Stephenson (2022-23) with 28.

It's good to be present during life's more intimate moments. That includes seeing your child being born and watching your team win the championship. The Golden Knights know something about the latter, bringing home a title to Sin City in 2023. Of course, they wouldn't have done this without their Conn Smythe winner and franchise leader in nearly anything, Jonathan Marchessault.
