Reunions are always a good thing, especially if you're a Vegas Golden Knights fan. You were absolutely delighted to see an Original Misfit come back to the Golden Knights and make the Stanley Cup Final again. Yes, he's gone. But you love his smiling face. You were thrilled to see the softball hero come back for another go-round and help Vegas make the Stanley Cup Final.

Guess what? You're getting yet another reunion, courtesy of Victor Olofsson coming back on a one-year deal. Fans will remember the 2024-25 residency, during which he scored 15 goals and 14 assists. He was a serviceable winger who put up solid numbers with the Golden Knights, helping them win the Pacific Division.

Now? He gets a chance to run it back. The former Calgary Flame takes a second go-round after Pavel Dorofeyev was traded to the New York Rangers. The Golden Knights needed a shooting winger, so why not do another round with the Swedish forward?

So, let's take a look at that 2024-25 season and see what fans should expect. The Golden Knights are getting an insanely valuable player to play in their forward group and fans will be excited again. Here's why.

Why Vegas Golden Knights fans should be excited about Victor Olofsson returning to the mix

First, the Golden Knights are getting a bona fide star on the power play. Olofsson scored six power play goals during his first Vegas residency, adding a valuable shot to the unit. He also had 11 during his 2019-20 campaign with the Buffalo Sabres. That alone should add a winning pedigree to the unit, giving Vegas a low-cost, high-reward option to work with.

That shot is also heavy and accurate, doing massive damage to opposing defenses. His shot alone can give the top line a boost, as proven by his prior top-line work with Jack Eichel. Add in a solid transition game and the Golden Knights are in good hands with the returning winger.

However, not everything is ponies and rainbows within the realm. Olofsson can be a defensive liability, lacking a physical presence to his game. He does stand at 5'11" and weighs 180 lbs., making him likely the smallest player on the Golden Knights.

This is further proven by Olofsson's career totals in blocked shots and hits. Olofsson has 110 blocked shots and 121 hits during his eight-year career, making him a defensive liability. Combine that with his 6.3 defensive point shares during his eight-year career and that could quickly become a problem.

Still, Golden Knights fans should be thrilled that Olofsson is back in the mix. He serves a primary purpose of being the team's shooting winger, using his blistering shot to punish opponents. With that insane value of roughly $1.64 million, what's not to like about an Olofsson return?
