Now, you're wondering why you're seeing PGA Tour legend Tom Watson on your screen. Well, the Vegas Golden Knights hosted their VGK Golf Classic this week, with names like Rasmus Andersson and Braeden Bowman participating. You know the season's drawing near when the Golden Knights are golfing in September.

Still, that's a good thing. After all, it's been a noteworthy week on the news front for the Golden Knights. The Season 10 patch dropped and Toshiba Plaza officially changed its name to Paramount+ Plaza. But what about this patch, you ask?

There it is in all of its glory. The Golden Knights will be rocking this while taking the ice for the 2026-27 season. Prepare to celebrate the team's decade-long run of dominance this year. It's about to be an absolute movie.

But we're not here to talk about a patch today. We're talking about the Golden Knights golfing before the season starts. Imagine Mark Stone sinking a hole-in-one and celebrating with Shea Theodore on the links. Imagine Jack Eichel nailing a 50-foot putt for a birdie. The possibilities are endless before the NHL season starts.

What can we learn about golfing as Golden Knights fans? How can we improve our lives and ensure that we do better in everything that we do? Believe it or not, there are some valuable lessons to learn from playing this mental game.

What lessons can we take away from playing golf as Vegas Golden Knights fans?

So, funny story. I was playing TopGolf with my family last November. I hadn't swung a golf club in ages, mainly because I wasn't good at the sport. When you get only one birdie in your lifetime, it's telling about how well (or not well, in this instance) that you'll do in the game. So, what's a man to do when he hasn't familiarized himself with the game?

Why, you apply the principles that you learned from playing soccer. The objective is simple: Keep your head down, follow through, and transfer your weight. Don't forget to make sure that your hips are all good, along with your shoulders. If you nail all of these at once, you're bound to get the perfect shot.

Lo and behold, I was hitting dingers left and right. The ball was soaring, and every shot landed where I intended. But what if the ball wasn't going far enough? Well, you crank up the speed and keep the mechanics intact. That way, you can add 30-50 yards to your drive. Sounds easy, right?

Believe it or not, that worked. Ah, the wonders of practicing and perfecting your craft. Not only does it work every time, but it can also translate into other areas of life. The perfect example would be using your soccer fundamentals for your golf swing.

The moral of the story? First, keep your head down and follow through. Second, don't get too wrapped up in your own mind. Sometimes, we can get so wrapped up in our minds that we become our own worst enemies.
