Wednesday "Knight" wisdom about... soccer

If you're looking for an activity to do before the Vegas Golden Knights hit the ice, look no further than soccer!

Remember when I talked about getting a foot bath from Amazon? I needed to get into tip-top shape before the season started and get rid of all those poisons and toxins. Thank goodness for ionic therapy because cleaning out your body has never been easier!

But I also got a soccer ball to go with my order. The goal? Get a new hobby.

That hobby would consist of simply kicking a ball around and trying to score as many goals as I can. All of this went down in a half-hour, leading me to channel my inner Cristiano Ronaldo. Most of all, I felt like I was 10 years old again, doing whatever it took to be the best soccer player around.

Ironically, this was the sport that Golden Knights Misfit William Karlsson wanted to play before settling on hockey. He wanted to play for his favorite team, AIK. Thank goodness he became an Original Misfit instead, huh?

But what can we learn about picking up a soccer ball and playing with it? How can it improve your life and make you feel better? Take it from me. It's more than trying to be the next Lionel Messi.

Why Vegas Golden Knights fans should get a soccer ball

Are you bored at your stay-at-home job and are looking to kill some time? Perhaps you're wanting to try something new and get back in shape? Maybe you want to find a new activity for you and the kids to play? Look no further than taking up soccer!

It's an easy game to pick up and play, where you don't even have to be good at it. All you have to do is kick a ball around and you're good to go! Just make sure your hands don't touch the ball unless you're the goaltender. That's extremely important.

For me, picking up a soccer ball was refreshing for a few reasons. First, it's great for clearing the mind. Whenever you have a brain-dead idiot yelling at you and trying to overcompensate for whatever reason, you want to let off some steam.

Heck, invite them over and use them for target practice. Tie 'em up and pretend they're a Sharks fan. That always works.

It's also healthy. For me, it keeps me current with my cardio while keeping me active. As long as I don't pull a muscle on the field, I'm set and ready to go.

I feel this can work for you, too. Pick up a soccer ball for $10 (they're quite cheap), find an open soccer field, and have fun! With the cooling temperatures, it'll be worth it before the Golden Knights' season starts.
