The Vegas Golden Knights announced a new away jersey patch on Wednesday. That came with a partnership with the world-famous car company, Toyota.
The team even announced a free car wash for Toyota owners. Of course, that came with the stipulation of having VGK license plates. Otherwise, you'd have to pay up between January 28 and February 1.
"From day one, the Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and the Vegas Golden Knights have shared a commitment to excellence, community, and winning together. Today, the Golden Knights announced @Toyota as the official away jersey patch partner. Featuring Toyota on our iconic white jerseys highlights the partnership and the drive of our organization."Vegas Golden Knights on social media
You know what's coming with the latest announcement: the fan reactions. Were Golden Knights fans on board with Toyota beeping their way into the realm? Or was it the worst car crash ever imagined? Well, better get AAA for this because this looks like a wreck.
How did Vegas Golden Knights fans react to the new Toyota patch?
Let's be honest. Golden Knights fans weren't exactly on board with the new patch. There was plenty of barfing, eye-gauging, and bleaching to go with this reveal. The social media reaction was far worse and more grotesque than imagined.
So, who exactly is to blame for the jersey debacle for the Golden Knights? Well, the automotive company shares some blame as it hungers for those sweet advertising dollars.
Toyota ruined the best away jersey in the NHL.

Of course, fans had some "friendly" suggestions that came with the patch. Why not go with something a little less "geared towards the children?" Man, I can hear someone say, "WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!"
Why can’t we get a real Vegas sponsor like the Palamino or little Darlings 😂 pic.twitter.com/DYM9TGmz8j

Better say some Hail Mary's for that one, folks. That's why they call Las Vegas, "Sin City."
But some just weren't big on how the patch fit on the jersey. Like, what's this gigantic blob doing on the away jersey, especially if it's red?
This is an AWFUL look, guys. Please reverse this.

The away jerseys are incredible and are some of the only ones in the league to not have a sponsor, and now there's a massive red Toyota block on it?
Regardless, Toyota is beeping their way onto Golden Knights jerseys. It's part of a changing landscape, where other pro leagues like MLB and the NBA are adapting these changes.
Honestly, I'm indifferent to the additions. Like, am I going to notice the new patch? Circa Sports is already on my William Karlsson jersey and nobody's raising a stink about it. So why does it matter now?
Let's just enjoy the rest of the season and see where things go. Right now, the Golden Knights are fighting for Stanley Cup supremacy and are returning home after a grueling four-game trip. Let's cheer on the boys in gold and will them to victory, shall we?
