Vegas Golden Knights edge the New York Rangers thanks to Braeden Bowman and depth scoring

The Vegas Golden Knights might be turning the corner after beating the New York Rangers. It's all thanks to one particular rookie and depth scoring.

The Vegas Golden Knights were faced with a daunting task of taking on Igor Shesterkin and the New York Rangers. Okay, Shesterkin was the real threat here, along with the Rangers' penchant for scoring on the road. It's like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles facing Master Shredder.

Who could they rely on to get the job done? Who could step up and take the reins for the Golden Knights? Why, you needed your depth players to step up and that's exactly what they did. Cowabunga.

Thanks to Braeden Bowman scoring a power play goal in the first period, the Golden Knights got points in their fourth straight game. But did you think that Bowman would be the only player to partake in the fun? Absolutely not! Vegas won the game, 3-2, thanks to strong depth scoring.

Vegas also got a goal from Ben Hutton, who got his first of the year. Mind you, the past few days have been nothing but firsts from the Golden Knights. Aside from Hutton and Bowman, the Golden Knights got first goals from Noah Hanifin and Brandon Saad in the past week. Suddenly, the depth scoring is waking up and that's a scary thing for the rest of the NHL.

Of course, Shesterkin did everything he could (and I mean everything) to stop the Golden Knights. That included this incredible stop on Jack Eichel in the second period. With a quick snap of the glove, Shesterkin prevented Tuesday's game from getting out of hand. He did get some help from Jonny Brodzinski with a second-period goal and Vincent Trocheck in the third period. Still, have Akira Schmid, will travel.

Still, you can't deny that Vegas had a strong showing on Tuesday. If the Golden Knights want to win another Stanley Cup, that starts with guys like Hutton, Shea Theodore (who got another on Tuesday), and Reilly Smith continuing their strong stretches.

Braeden Bowman continues to make an impressive impact for the Vegas Golden Knights

All it took was Marner from atop to set up a juicy rebound for Braeden Bowman. He gets that off Igor Shesterkin and puts the Vegas Golden Knights ahead, 1-0. It's a thing of beauty, especially when you're facing Igor Shesterkin.

It was another strong game by Bowman that should start an unusual conversation: keeping Bowman around. Yes, I know that it's far-fetched to think about. However, the proof is in the pudding. The Golden Knights have five power play goals in their last three games.

It's worth considering if it's worth keeping Bowman around. If not, he'd be a welcome addition to a Silver Knights squad thriving in the AHL. Regardless, it's a win-win for an organization that's watching a promising prospect blossom into a dominant NHL player.

Golden Knights needed to dominate the shots battle against the New York Rangers... and they did

On a night when the Golden Knights were facing Igor Shesterkin of all netminders, the Golden Knights needed a strong performance from their depth scorers. Lo and behold, they got that with Bowman getting the party started.

However, he wasn't alone. Ben Hutton crashed into the offensive zone for a squeaker goal, putting the Golden Knights up, 2-0. I know! Ben Hutton, of all people!

It's the type of night where you needed your depth players step up. It didn't matter if it was the young rookie or the seventh defenseman. Tuesday was a much-needed night for role players to step up for the Golden Knights.
