The Vegas Golden Knights must have two things change in Game 5

If the Vegas Golden Knights want to win Game 5, they must change two things on Tuesday.

Look, the history shows that the Vegas Golden Knights don't do their best in Game 4 in the second round. It's been a case of unfortunate bounces, a lackluster offense, and mishaps. In turn, the Golden Knights have only won twice.

That's what makes Tuesday's Game 5 crucial. If you lose this game at home, well, you're going to Anaheim in an elimination game against the Ducks. Believe it or not, Golden Knights fans won't be hearing noise from Ducks fans in that barn. Instead, it'll come from 31 other teams.

Imagine hearing the fanbases bash you because you choked away a game. That would be devastating for Vegas, even if most fans feel like they can take it. Nobody wants all that noise with summer looming. It'd feel like you're having an aneurysm while driving in traffic.

So, let's look at two things that loom large for the Golden Knights in Game 5. Who must step up for Vegas and give the Golden Knights the edge? What must change so that they can move closer to sending the Ducks home. It's time to break the tape down and see where the Golden Knights stand before a big game.

Carter Hart must have the rebound game of his life

Sunday wasn't the best game for the Golden Knights' goaltender. He stopped 19 of 23 shots against the Ducks, with five saves coming on the power play. Of course, he hasn't been the best on the road during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Fans will point to the two Utah Mammoth road games (Games 3 and 4, that is). The Mammoth blitzed Hart with shots at his ears, using his butterfly style against him with impudity. While the circumstances were slightly different in Game 4 against the Ducks, that must change.

Of course, that also means that the Golden Knights must also shore up some things on their end. That means not taking dumb penalties like Game 4 and closing all gaps. Yes, it won't be easy against a fast, young Ducks team. However, it can be done, especially if Hart is on point.

Special teams must dominate the discussion for the Vegas Golden Knights

If you knew anything about the Golden Knights' special teams, it's been a case of Jekyll and Hyde. The Golden Knights' power play hasn't been the most impressive entering Game 4. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights' penalty kill only allowed one goal entering Sunday's game.

Ironically, it was a complete role reversal as the power play played better. The penalty kill was the killer for Vegas as they lost on two power play goals from Anaheim. So, what's a team to do to ensure that doesn't happen again?

Well, all eyes will be on Mark Stone. Will he return in Game 5 or will he be out? Moreover, will the Golden Knights stay out of the penalty box, namely with key penalty killers like Jack Eichel? That will loom large for Vegas as they enter Game 5.
