How have the Vegas Golden Knights done all-time in Game 4 of the second round?

Believe it or not, the story here is much more different than when the Golden Knights win the series after losing Game 2.

You know, I'm tired of overused cliches. But you know what's coming. We said this about Game 3 and how important it was to win. The good news? The Vegas Golden Knights delivered in a resounding 6-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

But this is also true here. Again, this is an overused cliche that we're talking about here. But the Golden Knights have a "golden" opportunity to seize the series against the Ducks and return home for a potential clincher.

Granted, this isn't going to be easy. The Ducks set the tone for Games 1 and 2, winning one of those in resounding fashion. The other game? Well, that's a controversial game that they certainly don't want to talk about.

But what Golden Knights fans should be talking about is the history behind Game 4 in the second round. Here, there's plenty of history and depth involved with the game itself. We're talking about how close it is to the proverbial coin flip.

The Vegas Golden Knights have won only two Game 4's out of five in the second round all-time

Believe it or not, the Golden Knights haven't been too successful at winning Game 4 in the second round. They've only done it twice out of five times, basically turning it into a throwaway game. Thank goodness that Game 5 is usually when they turn it up, eh?

What's more bizarre is how the games turned out. You'll see plenty of blowouts in this regard, with not a single one-goal game to be found.

The results have been basically mixed, with the Golden Knights winning in convincing fashion in two contests. However, the three losses have been blowouts themselves, including two shutouts.

Still, Game 4 doesn't necessarily spell doom for the Golden Knights if they lose. They've only lost the second round series once in such instances, which was in 2024-25 to the Edmonton Oilers. Of course, that series saw the Golden Knights go blank offensively in the last two games, leading to their inevitable elimination.

There's no better time than Sunday for the Golden Knights to even the all-time record. They blitzed the Ducks early and often in Game 3, taking them out of commission. They could also use this game to head home to a raucous T-Mobile Arena crowd that wants them to finish the job. The next stop? The Western Conference Final.
