Nobody saw this coming. Of course, not many people saw Pavel Dorofeyev being traded to the New York Rangers, yet here we are. Still, the Vegas Golden Knights signed Jeremy Lauzon to a six-year, $4 million range AAV extension, per Darren Dreger.
Further to @DarrenDreger report, Jeremy Lauzon is signing a six-year extension with Vegas carrying an AAV in the $4M range.

This past season, Lauzon racked up a ton of hits, delivering 251 hits. Lauzon also added 97 blocked shots to the mix and had 2.7 defensive point shares. He also chipped in a goal and 12 assists for the Golden Knights. He was originally acquired from the Nashville Predators alongside Colton Sissons for Nicolas Hague.

This came off the heels of the Golden Knights trading Kaeden Korczak to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Parker Wotherspoon. The Golden Knights make room for more defense and have Lauzon to assist in anchoring the unit.
Of course, Lauzon's Vegas residency hasn't been without controversy. He amassed the most penalty minutes in a single season in 2025-26 with 89. That's even more than what Ryan Reaves totaled in any of his seasons, earning him the nickname of "Meathead" in some circles.
Still, the Golden Knights need as much stay-at-home guys as they can get. Adding Wotherspoon was the start, given his two-way capabilities. But Lauzon returning will add some power to the blue line.
