Well, it looks like everything seems okay with Carter Hart, after all. After leaving Tuesday's morning skate with an apparent injury that left him limping, the No. 1 goaltender returned to Thursday's practice like nothing happened. That's great news for the Vegas Golden Knights for numerous reasons.
One, Hart has had a decent 2026-27 season, posting a GAA of 2.76 and a save percentage of .889. Two, fans aren't too keen on having Adin Hill around for the long term, especially after a disastrous 2025-26 season (GAA of 3.04 and a save percentage of .871). Sure, Hill has been better in 2026-27 (GAA of 2.63 and a save percentage of .895). But how much longer can he hold onto that style of play.
Remember when Ben Meyers of the Seattle Kraken delivered a nasty cross-check to Victor Olofsson not long ago? He returned to the ice on Thursday in a red no-contact jersey. He could even come back for the upcoming road trip.

Add a pinch of the Hometown Remix jerseys being previewed for fans and it was a great Thursday for Golden Knights fans. All of this to see the team get key pieces back and a jersey that highlights the history and personality of Las Vegas. I guess you can call that a win-win in Sin City.
Personally, I'm a fan of the green added to the Hometown Remix jersey. It adds some character to the Golden Knights. But enough about that. Let's talk about the two players in question here since they've made their triumphant returns on Thursday. What does it all mean for the Golden Knights moving forward?
Why Vegas Golden Knights fans should be happy about Victor Olofsson and Carter Hart returning to the ice
First, the Golden Knights are getting a solid shooting winger back on the ice. Olofsson has lived up to his reputation in his second Vegas stint, scoring four goals and an assist this season. Half of his goals have come on the power play, making him a potent shooting threat.
But what happens with the first power play unit? Does Trevor Connelly keep his spot, or does he get bumped down in favor of the Swedish winger? The team will have that question in the coming weeks. But in the meantime, it'll be great to have two solid shooting wingers on the power play (in a perfect world, of course).
As for Hart, getting him back is extremely vital. Yes, the goaltending group still has some questions, even if he returns. However, your No. 1 is always the go-to when you're competing for the Stanley Cup. Fans are still worried that Hill will fall off a cliff during the regular season and beyond, which is why Hart returning helps.
Besides, the Golden Knights can become a massive threat if the defensive structure is on point. Hart thrives when high-danger chances are taken away, for he can move more fluently in the crease. Still, he can do the work without additional help, making him a better option.
Breathe in and breathe out, Golden Knights fans. Be sure to let out some gas. Everything is fine for now. Vegas is still kicking butt and will get key reinforcements soon.
