It seems like Adin Hill can't catch a break this season. After taking an ugly hit to the groin last Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, the Vegas Golden Knights netminder suffered yet another lower-body injury. According to Bruce Cassidy, this might have some staying power.
Cassidy calls Adin Hill week-to-week. He will not travel on the upcoming trip.

Boy, that feels like a kick in the family jewels, doesn't it?
It feels like a season gone completely wrong for Hill in 2025-26. After having a career year with the Golden Knights last season (2.47 GAA and four shutouts), the Calgary native hasn't had the best luck. That includes a GAA of 2.73 and a save percentage of .888 in five games this season.
With Hill out, the Golden Knights called up Carl Lindbom from the Henderson Silver Knights. The Swedish netminder practiced on Wednesday with Vegas, taking part in drills before they head out to the East Coast.
Don't get me wrong: Lindbom is a promising goaltender, especially with his stellar 2024-25 season with Henderson. Putting up a GAA of 2.65, along with a save percentage of .912 and three shutouts is amazing. But you'd love to have a veteran netminder to take the pressure off of you against tough teams like the Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes.
Are we seeing deja vu with the Golden Knights all over again with Adin Hill?
Hill has been well-known for struggling to stay healthy on the ice. In 2023-24, he suffered a lower-body injury that kept him out for an extended period. The season before that? Two lower-body injuries left him out of commission.
If you're one to catch onto trends, it seems that Hill's lower body has been problematic for him. No, I'm not talking about him getting hit in the crown jewels, either. I'm talking about having various leg injuries keep you out of action.
That will be a major problem for Vegas this season if these injuries flare up. Some people have worried about Akira Schmid not being able to handle an increased workload properly. Those fears were realized after his disastrous start against the Boston Bruins. Will these problems flare up again?
Kelly McCrimmon has acted in accordance to the latest Adin Hill injury news
The good news is that Kelly McCrimmon has quickly addressed the goaltending issue for Vegas. He called up revered goaltending prospect Carl Lindbom for the upcoming trip, giving him reps as early as Wednesday's practice.
Other moves such as adding Carter Hart and having a deep prospect pool address this issue. Still, it stinks that you don't have your starter out on the ice for an upcoming East Coast gauntlet. It adds more pressure on the Golden Knights to defensively perform.
Luckily, Bruce Cassidy knows how to maximize his output from his veteran group. It's also early in the 2025-26 season, meaning that Vegas still has plenty of time to make key adjustments. That could lead to a shored-up unit that overcomes these problems, specifically with a defensive group adjusting as they go. That should leave plenty of room for Hill to flourish once he returns to the goaltending fold.
