Some Vegas Golden Knights fans were filled with disappointment and sorrow when they heard the news. No, it wasn't Adin Hill being out for the season with a groin injury. Instead, it was the other guy joining the team on a PTO.
But we're not going to focus on that today. What we'll focus on is Hill. After all, he's the Golden Knights' de facto starter and had a career year last season. Career-best stats in 2.47 and four shutouts will warrant all sorts of attention from the fanbase.
Let's talk about Tuesday, shall we? Remember when the Calgary native took a puck that knocked his mask right off? Do you also remember when he left the game after the first period with a lower-body injury? Well, it seems that everything was overblown.

Hill was on the ice, doing what he does best: chillin' and Hillin'. He also had some fire pads to go with it, making the practice much more enjoyable.
The Golden Knights dodged a bullet with the latest Adin Hill news
While Adin Hill won't be starting Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins (that honor goes to Akira Schmid), the Golden Knights can take solace in knowing their starter is okay. Tuesday wasn't the best game for the 29-year-old after he stopped eight of 10 shots. Granted, the Golden Knights were lackluster in the first period, giving up the puck in the defensive zone too many times. However, stopping 80% of your shots will have some fans raising their eyebrows in concern.
It's no wonder fans have called him out on X and other social media platforms over his performance. Allowing goals always go back to the goaltender, whether your defense is awful or not. That was the case for the Calgary native last season, where he had a dismal showing during the Stanley Cup playoffs (GAA of 2.93 and a save percentage of .887).
While the netminder hasn't been at his best to start the season, Vegas avoids a crisis early. It turns out that one of his boys merely popped, leaving him wincing in terrible pain. Now, you have your netminder putting some IcyHot on his family jewels to heal him up. 'Tis but a scratch.
The moral of the story? Wear a cup if you're going onto the ice. That way you don't suffer the same fate as Hill in a hockey game.
