When one door closes, another opens. At least, that's how the saying's supposed to go.
With the baseball season wrapping up on Sunday, it's time for 18 MLB teams to say goodbye to the 2025 regular season. For the other 12 teams, the action continues.
But the other door opening consists of the hockey season, which starts on October 8. That's when the Vegas Golden Knights take on the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena. It's become an annual tradition of sorts at T-Mobile Arena, where the Golden Knights start the season at their little abode.
With that comes the Gold Carpet event, where fans get to see the biggest superstars on the Golden Knights. Last year, I went and had a blast. That included watching the best Golden Knights players strut down the "Gold Carpet" and getting a picture with Ben Hutton.
Good times, as they would say.
With the closing of the baseball season comes the start of a new sports season. It's the time where fans will have their times occupied with ice-filled bliss and visions of players skating around the 200-foot rink.
'Tis the season for the, well, Golden Knights regular season to return
I'm looking forward to the VGK Fan Fest for the 2025-26 season. Last season was an excellent event of sorts, and I got to see players such as Tomas Hertl and Jack Eichel. This season, all eyes will be on Mitch Marner as he makes his first season with the Golden Knights well-known.
I'm also looking forward to all the traveling I get to do for the hockey season. The action starts in Tampa in October, where I will chronicle my travels. Here's hoping I don't run into any eccentric 30-somethings with an overgrown beard.
Finally, I'm looking forward to simply having my nights occupied with hockey. There's no better feeling than watching an NHL game at 4 PM PST and finishing the action at 10 PM PST. It gets me through my day and I look forward to every moment.
This season will be filled with plenty of fun-filled action for the Golden Knights. It'll also be filled with plenty of goals, making it even better. It's enough to have you asking...
"Is it October yet?"
