Sunday thoughts about... Pavel Dorofeyev's "no-goal"

Absolute blasphemy, if you ask me.

The Vegas Golden Knights found themselves down 2-0 in the first period. They were desperate for a goal and needed one from one of their most reliable sources. It could've been the returning Mark Stone, Jack Eichel, or even Brett Howden. Instead, it was Pavel Dorofeyev delivering the goal for Vegas... except he didn't.

The officiating crew ruled that the puck hit Dorofeyev's hands rather than his stick, resulting in a no-goal. That's a no-no in today's NHL, especially when you consider that some players will abuse that to oblivion.

However, Golden Knights fans noticed that the puck touched the stick rather than the glove. That was even noticed by the ESPN crew, whether it was P.K. Subban or the announce crew. So much for "Vegas Golden Refs," eh?

Anyways, the call has proven to be an absolute game-changer for Game 3. The Golden Knights are moving towards a comeback and could use the extra juice. Imagine what could've been if the refs actually tapped into that "Golden Refs" mantra and did something right for once.

Alas, it's something that the Golden Knights must contend with. They must focus on what's ahead and do whatever it takes to get a stranglehold on the series. Still, do you think that it was a good goal?
