Sunday thoughts about... giving

'Tis the season to be giving for the Vegas Golden Knights. Thank goodness that my Christmas shopping is all wrapped up, too!

'Tis the season for giving presents to loved ones, especially if it's Vegas Golden Knights-related. It's the best time of year, when you get to spend time with your family and friends instead of working to the bone. For me, I'm traveling to Los Angeles to take in a hockey game (be on the lookout for another travel guide!) with the Kings taking on the Ducks.

I always love going to California for the Christmas holiday because it helps to take my mind off everything. I can take in beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the waves hitting the Venice Beach shore.

It's always a calming effect that relaxes the mind. Time suddenly slows down and you can truly appreciate what you have in life. For me, it's my family that I can talk to regularly and friends that I meet while covering the Golden Knights. It's also my 49er friends that I've met throughout the years, creating strong bonds during that time.

It helps me to appreciate the finer things in life, which is the ultimate gift. Sometimes, we take these things for granted and forget what we have in life. That can range from our parents to having a roof over our heads.

For me, I'm thankful to give the gift of writing for the greatest hockey team around in the Golden Knights, covering their every move. It doesn't matter where I'm at and what I'm doing, whether I'm in sunny California or frigid Montreal. I'm appreciative of building an incredible community and meeting every one of you.

For me, that's the greatest gift that I'm truly appreciative of.
