Sunday thoughts about... change

Sometimes, we need a little change in our lives. That's especially true for the Golden Knights, who needed to change some things after a four-game losing streak.

Sometimes, you need something to change in life. If you're a Vegas Golden Knights fan, you don't like seeing four-game losing streaks. You want something to change, whether it's a patented Bruce Cassidy line shuffle or added reinforcements. Whatever the case, it worked on November 15 as the Golden Knights blew out the St. Louis Blues, 4-1.

It was due to many changes within the Golden Knights' system, starting with depth scoring. The group read like a catchy headline, grabbing everyone's attention with its eye-opening hook:

"FINALLY! The Golden Knights get goals from more than Eichel."

Boy, that would make me buy everything in the Golden Knights store (and then some!). Somebody get me down to the Arsenal so I can get the latest Mitch Marner jersey!

But in all seriousness, the change was much-needed. Vegas needed someone to fill in for Mark Stone as he heals up from his wrist injury. Lo and behold, Braeden Bowman took the torch and ran with it, scoring his first goal on Saturday. Mind you, it was on the power play, which suddenly looks better with the rookie around.

Personally, I've been thinking of some changes as a Vegas Golden Knights fan

No, I'm not rooting for another team. Yes, times have been somewhat rough. It doesn't even involve the NHL in this situation.

As much as I love the occassional Braeden Bowman goal, I've also thought of some things in my own life. For example, I would like to move out of the country and enjoy life elsewhere in the future. Of course, this would be a retirement plan that won't happen immediately. However, there are good reasons for this.

One, modern life is exhausting. It's become transactional, leaving you feeling like a hamster on the wheel. It doesn't matter if it's the dating scene or in basic friendships. It's a good thing that the Golden Knights exist because modern life would drive a person to insanity.

Also, isn't it wonderful to simply travel to other countries? You get to experience different cultures and see life through the lens of someone else. You get to travel to see hockey in different forms, whether it's summer hockey in Australia or during the Swedish cold.

Sometimes, change is a much-needed positive in our lives. We need to see things from a different perspective, whether it's the Golden Knights trying out a rookie or moving elsewhere. Ask yourself this question:

"What are you doing to change your life for the better?"
