Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that PWHL Las Vegas will begin their training camps on Nov. 18. Each team will play two scrimmages during training camps. PWHL Las Vegas will host the Minnesota Frost on Nov. 22 and the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Nov. 24 at America First Center in Henderson.

The team hasn't officially announced a name yet, leaving plenty of fans guessing on what it could be. Still, the main theme of this story is the new franchise getting starting dates for their inaugural season. Accompanying the Golden Knights into the hockey realm will be a female counterpart that takes the ice.
It also highlights continued growth within the Silver State's hockey community. The ripple effect of the Golden Knights' early success has spawned a movement which has gripped Nevada as a whole. Now, you have more teams coming into play, adding more depth and substance to the Las Vegas sports scene.
Why fans should be excited for PWHL Las Vegas to step onto the ice in November
If there's one thing about Las Vegas sports, it's that they'll latch onto winners in the city. You've seen that with the Golden Knights after they took the city by storm in 2017-18. But that has transcended beyond men's sports, starting with the Las Vegas Aces.
The Aces took over the WNBA scene with dominant play from prominent players such as A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum. In turn, the franchise has won three WNBA titles since arriving from San Antonio, making them one of the most prestigious teams in Sin City. Add a Commissioner's Cup to the mix and the prestige grows further.
What's more, the Aces are owned by Mark Davis, who's also the Raiders' owner. The Raiders haven't been the most successful team in the NFL, only making the playoffs once since moving to Las Vegas. Still, they have a young, exciting team consisting of superstars such as Brock Bowers, Ashton Jeanty, and Fernando Mendoza. The future looks brighter than expected for the Raiders, which is a refreshing change of pace for the historically beleaguered franchise.
All that prestige and pedigree will give PWHL Las Vegas some confidence heading into November. The expansion team is owned by the Mark Walter Group, who happens to own... the Los Angeles Dodgers. You know, the team that won back-to-back World Series titles in the past two seasons. That alone should inspire confidence in the Las Vegas hockey scene.
Names like Tessa Janecke will lead the charge for the new hockey team, hoping to replicate their predecessor's successes. If they can follow teams like the Aces and the Paseo Verde Little League Baseball team, they'll establish themselves in a newfound winning culture in Nevada. How sweet would that be?
