What angers you the most? Is it someone cutting you off in traffic while they're jamming to music? Perhaps it's your husband not knowing any better by leaving the toilet seat up. Whatever the case, we've all been there with frustrating obstacles.
That's certainly the case with the Vegas Golden Knights, who are looking forward to the next season. Armed with returning players in Brandon Saad and Reilly Smith and "he who shall not be named so we don't offend those in Toronto," Vegas wants another crack at the Stanley Cup. One insider certainly sees it that way.
On his 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman had some telling thoughts about the Golden Knights after losing to the Edmonton Oilers. It was something to the effect of, "This team is beyond p****d off".
"One of the things I heard, those were some pretty harsh meetings during and after that series. They were disappointed; I think everybody was disappointed. Not necessarily that they lost, but they got manhandled. I think the management was mad, I think the coaching staff was mad, I think the players were mad, and I heard it was B-L-U-N-T blunt."Elliotte Friedman
Imagine you're a hapless team like the Vancouver Canucks and you see Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner barreling down the ice in transition. You realize that their biggest adversaries, the Oilers, ticked them off.
Yeah, man. I'd have the same reaction.
It's time for the Golden Knights to go on a little revenge tour
What Friedman said certainly holds some weight here. How would you feel if your rivals starting beating you and their fans started making tasteless jokes about mass shootings that affected your community? How would you feel if you were two games away from watching them hoist the Stanley Cup?
Luckily for Golden Knights fans, the latter didn't happen. Behind the power of Brad Marchand's rat magic, Sam Bennett sitting on goaltenders, and the magic of ice cream, the Panthers made sure that didn't happen.
However, 2025-26 already has fans excited (as mentioned on Sunday). But it seems the team is also excited to get back to work. That's a good thing, considering Golden Knights fans are already sick of basement-dwellers in their mother's house talking about how their team's a machine. You gotta win one first to earn that honor, you know.
With that, it's time for a little revenge tour of sorts. Vegas hasn't gotten their hands on the Stanley Cup in the past two seasons and it's already annoying. It's almost like being stuck in traffic like you're in downtown Los Angeles, or worse, being cut off.
It's a good thing you have an incredible head coach like Bruce Cassidy to prove Elliotte Friedman right. Add in a great team that's motivated and the other 31 teams better be on notice.
