It's becoming routine for Jack Eichel. First, the Vegas Golden Knights superstar broke numerous franchise records last season, ranging from single-season assists (66) to single-season points (94). Now? He's named as the NHL's "First Star" of the month, presented by GEICO (advertising!).

He joins Mark Scheifele of the Winnipeg Jets and Jakub Dobes of the Montreal Canadiens as part of the "Three Stars of the Month," marking an incredible 2025-26 start. Entering Saturday's slate of games, Eichel was the NHL' spoints leader (19). On top of that, he has eight goals, which is good enough to be tied for eighth in the NHL.

Eichel has been quintessential to Vegas's early success, leading them to a 6-2-3 start. That's good for 15 points and the Pacific Division lead, re-establishing the Golden Knights as the divisional top dog. But that's not all. Vegas is perched among the league's best teams with those 15 points.

For Jack Eichel, it's another honor for the Vegas Golden Knights superstar

It's no secret that Jack Eichel's becoming one of the league's premier players. He broke through with recording-breaking numbers last season, making him a top star. But this season is becoming business as usual for the Golden Knights center.

Currently, he's on pace for 142 points (60 goals and 82 assists), which would shatter all sorts of franchise records if it held serve. On top of that, it would make him the first 100-point player in franchise history. How cool would that be?

Granted, it'd be tough to maintain that pace throughout the season for many reasons. You don't know when injuries or cold stretches will strike, even for Eichel. However, it's reassuring to see the center play to his potential.

After all, Vegas has searched for a franchise-defining center for years. It's refreshing that a Stanley Cup winner has a guy to potentially break 100 points. Plus, he works great from home.

Looks like he's worth every penny.
