Is it shocking to anyone at this point? Probably not, considering that it's Jack Eichel.

It's no secret that Jack Eichel is extremely talented at hockey. The Vegas Golden Knights center led the team in points once again, scoring 90 points (27 goals and 63 assists). The funny part about this is that he only had one power play goal throughout the season, marking an unusual absence from his typical man-advantage dominance.

In fact, he has as many shorthanded goals as power play goals. But the NHLPA didn't think about that too much this week. They named him as the proverbial player of the week, being the final clincher for the 2025-26 season.

With seven points (two goals and five assists), amounting to an average of 2.33 points per game, Eichel returned to the forefront of the NHL conversation. He scored the game-winning goal on April 11 against the Colorado Avalanche to clinch Vegas's eighth playoff berth in nine seasons.

On top of that, he extended his point streak to four games. As a result, the Golden Knights will face the Utah Mammoth in the first round. There's something to be said about overcoming adversity and making the most of your opportunities. That's what the Golden Knights did as they overcame their head coach being fired to make the postseason.

Of course, it was Eichel leading the push for the Golden Knights and at a good time, too. He has 10 career goals and 33 career assists in 40 playoff games, making him a clutch performer. That includes a stellar 2023 campaign, where he scored six goals and 20 assists to win the franchise's first Stanley Cup.

That's also what makes him one of the most important players in the first round matchup. If the Golden Knights can get the most from their main superstar, that'll be great news for the team going through the playoffs.
