The Henderson Silver Knights continue to bring back more defensive depth to their roster. After the Vegas Golden Knights brought back Lukas Cormier for another year, they did the same thing to Brandon Hickey by inking him to another season.

This will be Hickey's sixth season with the Silver Knights, making him an organizational staple since 2021-22 (222 career games). The former third-round pick of the Calgary Flames in the 2014 NHL Draft scored a goal and six assists in 37 games with Henderson last season.
He was the Captain of Boston University's hockey team during his senior season, playing for the Terriers from 2014 to 2018. Hickey also represented Team Canada during the 2016 World Junior Championship and the 2017 Spengler Cup, winning a gold medal in the process.
Hickey has proven himself to be one of the scrappier players on Henderson. The defenseman isn't afraid to get involved in scrums and stick up for his teammates. That has made him one of the most prized defensive staples on the Silver Knights, giving the team an unprecedented edge.
Fans won't think too much about this signing. After all, it's an extremely long shot that Hickey spends time with the Golden Knights this upcoming season, even with the injuries. However, Henderson will be glad to add his services, especially if they wish to go toe-to-toe with opponents on grit.
