Ladies and gentlemen, another Original Misfit has retired. You might not think of him as much as, say, Reilly Smith or Jonathan Marchessault. But another former Golden Knight from "Day F*****g One" is hanging up his skates for good. His name? Brad Hunt.
Hunt had a two-season Vegas residency from 2017 to 2019, scoring five goals and 20 assists during that span. He's also played for the Minnesota Wild, the Colorado Avalanche, the Nashville Predators, the Vancouver Canucks, the Edmonton Oilers, and the St. Louis Blues. In short? He was a Western Conference guy, staying far away from the Eastern Time Zone.
Ironically, Hunt wasn't acquired via the 2017 Expansion Draft. Instead, he signed a two-year, two-way deal with the Golden Knights, leaving the Predators in the process. He was traded to the Minnesota Wild on January 21, 2019 along with a 2019 sixth-round NHL Draft pick. In return, the Golden Knights received a 2019 fifth-round NHL Draft pick.
You might not think of Hunt too much. But he played an integral role in Vegas's 2018 Stanley Cup Final run. His three goals and 15 assists in 45 games provided blue line scoring. In turn, it made the Golden Knights one of the best defensemen groups around.
