Five goals. 10 assists. 15 points.
The 10 assists is good enough for second place in the NHL entering Monday. The points lead the NHL before Vegas's game against the Carolina Hurricanes and have Jack Eichel on a 205 point pace. Granted, he's unlikely to meet that mark. However, Eichel's a good bet to be the first player in franchise history to hit 100 points or higher.
Still, that's not enough for certain people on social media. That's where some writers stood entering the 2025-26 season and Vegas Golden Knights fans didn't hesitate on calling him out after finding it.
Hell yes, I'm excluding Stamkos and Eichel.

Jack Eichel is not an elite center in the league.
Stamkos wasn't even his team's top center when they won. https://t.co/DzByvY1GpE
Vegas Golden Knights social media did what they do best and found the take. As usual, they let their feelings known about the take with gusto and humor. Heck, one post even involved Will Smith in gif form.
Give this guy a mic and put him on stage, we are looking at the world's next best comedian! pic.twitter.com/hEW168zct8

It took the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to call out the post. Heck, you'd have to go all the way to West Philadelphia to find someone who agrees with this. Others saw this as a bait opportunity and called it out.

Look, I know some of my takes have aged horribly like year-old milk forgotten in the fridge. When that happens, I proudly own up to that. But this is a take that Golden Knights fans won't forget, especially if Eichel continues his torrid scoring pace.
Vegas Golden Knights fans make their voices heard on where Jack Eichel stands in the NHL
As mentioned, Jack Eichel lead the NHL in points (15) entering Monday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes. That's better than former winners such as Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid, and Leon Draisaitl. That's also better than elite players such as Auston Matthews and Quinn Hughes. Some people made that clear regarding this take.
Is Auston Matthews elite?
— Chris Gawlik (@TDChrisG) October 20, 2025
That's a good question. Based on history alone, he should be deemed as such. While the Maple Leafs center has a reputable name, he's scored four goals and two assists to start the season (six games). Good numbers, mind you. But not Jack Eichel-good as it stands.
Fans brought up an old quote from Eichel himself regarding this take.
— Expressive Internet Stranger (@E_Ric11) October 20, 2025
People hate a winner, I guess.
Plenty of Golden Knights fans have said that in junction with Eichel's scorching-hot start, watching him flourish with arguably the NHL's best forward group.
What can help Eichel to prove the naysayers wrong throughout the 2025-26 season
Obviously, staying healthy is a must. Last season was tied for the most games he's played in a single campaign since his rookie year. Throughout his career, he's dealt with numerous health complications, including an artificial disc replacement procedure that the Buffalo Sabres refused to do.
If Eichel continues thriving on the power play as expected, that should also help his case. Entering Monday's game, the Golden Knights had the second-best power play unit in the league (37.5%). Eichel already has eight assists on the unit this season while playing six games.
Of course, his teammates can also help him here. We're talking about Pavel Dorofeyev (six goals entering Monday), Mitch Marner (two goals and six assists entering Monday), and Ivan Barbashev (two goals and four assists entering Monday). It doesn't matter where Eichel plays for the Golden Knights this season. If his teammates stay healthy and continue playing at a high clip, expect Eichel to keep the elite moniker.
Already, people are wondering whether Eichel can live up to his new eight-year deal. That's certainly not the case for Eichel to start the 2025-26 season, who's lighting the NHL on fire. Golden Knights fans should feel excited to see where the superstar center will go this season.
