The Vegas Golden Knights had a busy news cycle to start January. Here's what happened in Sin City and across the league.

You know how you've endured a bad doo doo storm where it's nothing but Murphy's Law? Vegas Golden Knights fans know what I'm talking about here. Anything bad that can happen will happen. Like, that was the literal motto for the Golden Knights, who watched key players like Jack Eichel and Shea Theodore go down with injuries.

While December was the month where Vegas got endless amounts of coal from the hockey gods, January appears to be more... forgiving?

Yeah, I know! I couldn't believe it, either! How can a historically bad month suddenly turn good for the Golden Knights? Like, Vegas has a 2-1-1 record to start the month! Is the moon acting okay? Certainly, it can't be full right now... right?

Well, getting points in three of your first four January games is a good start. It inspires confidence in a fan base, indicating that the team's ready to explode like Fourth of July fireworks. Returning players add to this feeling, ensuring Las Vegans that everything will be just fine.

So, let's dive into the week that was filled with nothing but positivity, happiness, and sunshine. After all, Las Vegas doesnt know too much about the white stuff that falls from the sky. All they know (allegedly) is the sun beaming down upon them with pride.

Carter Hart goes down with a bad lower-body injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets

Thursday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets saw Carter Hart go down with a bad lower-body injury. It was one where Boone Jenner scored on the play, leaving fans up in arms over the controversial non-call. Alas, Carl Lindbom was called up from his comfortable Henderson home as an insurance policy.

It's been a rough showing for the former Flyers netminder since he started strong against the Chicago Blackhawks, with a GAA of 3.28 and a save percentage of .871 to show for his troubles. January has been particularly rough, with Hart having a GAA of 3.64 and a save percentage of .800. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and stronger legs, Mr. Hart. Just don't ask Kevin Durant for an extra pair.

Adin Hill and Shea Theodore were seen at Thursday's practice for the Vegas Golden Knights

Yeah, I know the Hart news is a damper for Las Vegas. But do you want to hear some good news? Do you?

Adin Hill returned to Thursday's practice for the Golden Knights, alongside Shea Theodore, who wore a red no-contact jersey.

Hill should provide a quick solution to the goaltending problem, especially after posting a GAA of 2.47 and four shutouts last season. Theodore should bolster a stagnant blue line on both ends. The Original Misfit has four goals and 16 assists this season, carrying the defenseman production for the Golden Knights.

Praise the lord because Vegas needs more reinforcements. With ugly wins against the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Winnipeg Jets, the Golden Knights will gladly take two key players returning to the fold.

Mark Stone is red-hot right now for the Golden Knights

You always want your unequivocal leader to run the show for your team. After all, you can't just let any mere mortal be the team captain. Luckily, the Golden Knights have Mark Stone to thank for all that.

That's especially true with his six-game scoring streak. The Winnipeg native has suddenly turned up the heat for the first-place Golden Knights, putting them in a comfortable position throughout the season.

Who knows? This might actually be a bearable January for Vegas. Our Lord, Marc-Andre Fleury, knows we need one of those for once.
