Jonas Rondbjerg was hoping to get some great news for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics to go with being called up. He was set to represent Denmark in the upcoming games, leaving his mark and impressing Vegas Golden Knights fans everywhere. However, it seems a turn of events has put those dreams in doubt.

While Bruce Cassidy didn't shed any light about whether he'll miss the Olympics, the prognosis doesn't look good for the Henderson Silver Knights mainstay. The 26-year-old was set to play for the wily underdogs and give them a small glimmer of hope.

Given that he has an assist in four games for the Golden Knights this season, it's unfortunate. He also has 12 goals and 11 assists in 36 games with the Silver Knights, making him one of the most important offensive pieces for Henderson. That's not even mentioning how well he did in international competition for Denmark last season.

He scored three goals in 10 games in 2024-25 for all competitions, with two goals coming from the World Championship. The assistant captain from last season's Silver Knights campaign scored 11 goals and 15 assists in 2024-25, establishing himself as a key cog.

Jonas Rondbjerg's latest injury news hurts Team Denmark—and the Vegas Golden Knights

Obviously, this would hurt Denmark from a depth standpoint. You don't want to lose a player with NHL experience, especially when he's had modest success. However, the potential loss doesn't just hurt the Danes.

The Golden Knights have dealt with a wave of injuries all season. Names like Karlsson and McNabb have been missing from action, leaving Vegas shorthanded. So, what happens when you lose one of those depth pieces and you're left to dig even further?

Well, Kai Uchacz was on the ice for the Golden Knights on Tuesday. He practiced with the team and got reps with Vegas, getting a taste of the NHL level. This season, the forward has six goals and 14 assists with the Silver Knights (39 games) and is projected to hit 11 goals and 25 assists this season (71 games).

As for Rondbjerg, this stinks on another level. The Henderson mainstay was looking forward to representing Denmark in the latest 2026 Winter Olympics. Now? Those hopes and dreams are in jeopardy, all thanks to... another injury.
