When you score eight goals and 18 assists as an undrafted rookie, you're bound to catch plenty of eyeballs. Vegas Golden Knights fans certainly noticed Braeden Bowman catch fire in his opening campaign, giving the Golden Knights a much-needed offensive boost.

On Thursday, Vegas rewarded the young forward with a six-year contract extension worth $3,400,000 AAV. Last season, Bowman appeared in 54 games with the Golden Knights, scoring a goal in three straight games after making his debut. He also recorded a point in five straight games, with both marks tying franchise records for a rookie.

Golden Knights fans will also remember Bowman from his AHL stint with the Henderson Silver Knights. Here, he played 88 games with the minor league club, scoring 62 points (26 goals and 36 assists). Last season, the 23-year-old scored 26 points in 20 games with the Silver Knights, with 14 coming in eight games in April.

Bowman is expected to be in the 12-forward group for the Golden Knights in 2026-27. His excellent play didn't just warrant a contract extension with the team. It also gave him the opening needed to become a regular part of the Golden Knights roster.

Eventually, the question becomes how the Golden Knights will replace said players for the future, specifically if they're willing to contend for a few more years. After all, Vegas heads into 2026-27 tied with the Colorado Avalanche as the NHL's third-oldest team (average age of 30).

He posted a GAA of 2.16, a save percentage of .926, and three shutouts last season with Henderson.
