Perhaps the Vegas Golden Knights organization is good at developing prospects. Braeden Bowman is one shining example of this case.

Last season was a breakout campaign of sorts for Braeden Bowman. He scored 14 goals and 22 assists with the Henderson Silver Knights, adding offense to an anemic group. What could a Guelph Storm alumnus do for an encore to help the Silver Knights in 2025-26? Why, you score more.

Six goals and three assists in nine games is a good way to start. That includes two power play goals, which has boosted a revitalized offensive attack. Suddenly, Henderson is off to a 7-1-1 start. Guess what? Henderson is riding a seven-game winning streak, too!

That seven-game winning streak is good enough to propel the surprising Silver Knights to second place in the Pacific Division. It's time to put away those punching bag jokes for Henderson because this team looks legit. Part of that has been Bowman's ability to evolve his game as a forward.

Part of that comes from him hitting the net. He carries terrific accuracy and an innate ability to fire a blistering shot. The forward can also create space, finding attackers in the open for excellent scoring opportunities. All of this culminates into a player ready to burst onto the NHL scene.

But does that truly equal an NHL role? Or will the 22-year-old need some more time in the minors? The answer could surprise many Golden Knights fans looking for solid prospects to step in.

What the future holds for Henderson Silver Knights prospect Braeden Bowman as he closes in on the Vegas Golden Knights roster?

Other qualities to Bowman's terrific game include his grit and speed. He's good at winning puck battles and has excellent skating speed. If he can put everything together on the rush consistently, he'll be an excellent running partner for his line.

You can also rely on him to work hard every shift. His game against the Tucson Roadrunners on February 16 is a shining example. It wasn't his best showing, yet he still did whatever it took to win the game. That should earn him bonus points in Bruce Cassidy's book down the line, especially if he wants a roster spot.

Think of two-way players on the Golden Knights like Mark Stone. The Captain doesn't give up on plays and does whatever it takes to help the team. Sure, it might result in getting injured constantly, leaving fans feeling like it's business as usual. However, it's an admirable trait and the main reason he's leading the Golden Knights every night.

Still, don't expect Bowman to hit the T-Mobile Arena ice in 2025-26. The Golden Knights have plenty of reliable forwards, even if some players aren't going. Bowman will stick around with the Silver Knights, which should help them carry the offensive load this season.

Plus, having that extra seasoning will help him become the NHL player he wants to be. It worked wonders for Carl Lindbom, who's already excelling in his short Golden Knights stint. Who knows? That could work for the 22-year-old down the road.
