Ryan Gagne is the Site Expert for The Rat Trick and a Calgary Flames contributor for The Hockey News. Since beginning his hockey writing career in 2021, he has authored more than 1,400 published articles, with work also appearing in The Hockey Writers, Sportskeeda, The Publisher Desk, and Forever Blueshirts. He has covered the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the Calgary Flames and Wranglers as a credentialed media member. A lifelong hockey fan and former Zamboni driver for nearly two decades, Ryan has a passion for hockey history and believes every championship banner and retired number tells a story worth preserving. Away from the rink, he proudly follows Team Sweden's hockey, curling, and women's soccer teams, and counts Henrik Lundqvist among his all-time favorite athletes.
